DataPlus® Professional is now compatible with Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition and Windows Mobile 5. New MDB Converter allows data collected with DataPlus Professional to be exported directly to Microsoft Access (MDB) databases. DataPlus® Professional is a Microsoft Windows-based application generator for both DOS and Windows CE portable computers. DataPlus lets you build applications that mimic clipboard data sheets. You design and test the application on your desktop PC then transfer it to your hand held. The software consists of familiar user friendly setup screens. A combination of keyboard and external device input, custom screens layouts, data error checks, data entry types can also be accommodated. For advanced features, you have the power to write custom user programs. File transfer software to communicate with both DOS and Windows CE is also included. DataPlus Professional was designed for non-programmers but has features that software developers and information systems managers will appreciate and have requested. Features to customize your application include: Supports both DOS and Windows CE portable computers. The same applications runs on either without modification. Multiple data levels with branching Remap keys on the hand held User programs for calculations, reports, etc. Extended BIOS support for power management Expanded data entry types, constant data displays, error checks, and data formats More robust data conversion features Windows CE functions that include four different levels of touch screen support and CE communication software that uses Microsoft ActiveSync for program installation and automated file transfers. Allows for Com6 on Windows CE devices so Bluetooth com ports can be used. Optional MBD Converter extension for exporting data collected by DataPlus to Microsoft Acess (MDB) databases. Components of DataPlus Professional The DataPlus Professional Package contains these elements: Application Generator program that runs on your Windows desktop PC to design and test your application before transferring to your portable computer. DPCedit program that runs on your Windows desktop PC to write "C" like user programs to customize advanced features of your application. Host Communication program that runs on your Windows desktop PC for file transfers. It also includes a Data Converter feature that will change the Xbase database file to an ASCII file. Includes two versions: one for DOS portable computers and one for Windows CE portable computers. An optional extension is available for the Data Converter feature that exports data collected with DataPlus to a Microsoft Access (MDB) database. Data File Editor program that runs on your Windows desktop PC for data file editing. Once the data has been transferred from the portable computer to the desktop, data can be edited if desired. One DOS portable computer license or one Windows CE portable computer license. This program is loaded onto your portable computer and will run the application transferred from your desktop PC. Click here for specific list of features New DataPlus MDB Converter Extension The DataPlus Professional MDB Converter is an extension of the standard DataPlus File Converter which is a component of DataPlus Host. It performs all of the features in the DataPlus File Converter as well as allows data collected with DataPlus Professional to be exported directly to Microsoft Access (MDB) databases. Since the DataPlus MDB Converter is a separate extension, the DataPlus Professional Applications Generator, DataPlus Host or DataPlus Field Kit, versions 1.8 or higher, must already be installed on your PC. DataPlus MDB is also purchased separately. Features included: MDB Direct Conversion option creates or appends to MDB databases without having to map source and destinatins columns. MDB Mapped Conversion option exports data to pre-existing MDB databases based on a source and destination column map. DBF Data Conversion option creates one DBF table per application branch. ASCII Data Conversion option creates one ASCII file per application branch. Archive and Unarchive option compresses or uncompresses files. External Device Input A combination of keyboard and external device input can be accomodated. DataPlus CE is currently compatible with a screen dimension of at least 320 x 240 or 240 x 320. DataPlus has been tested to run on these hand-held computers.
